The CJA exists to reduce re-offending and to protect the public by managing offenders and reducing the risk they pose to communities.
We do this by preparing a local Area Plan. This is agreed by all our partners as the best way to achieve our goals and the objectives laid out in the National Strategy for the Management of Offenders. We have identified priority groups of offenders to ensure that the risks and harm they are responsible for are minimised and where possible people are helped to stop offending. We meet regularly to review the progress of our plan and to discuss new developments. Our Board meets every quarter and these meetings are open to the public.
